How does Remote Play work?
Steam Remote Play
connects you to a game on one computer while the game process is going on
another machine somewhere else. Game audio and video are collected on the
remote computer and delivered to the device through Steam. The game input
(keyboard, mouse, or gamepad) is delivered from the device you're using to
the distant computer's game process.
A gameplay session may be streamed between any two Steam-connected computers, opening up the possibility of playing games on devices that would not typically be able to run them. For instance, a Windows PC running Windows might stream a Linux-based Steam Machine in the living room with a Windows-only game. You might stream a graphically demanding game from a powerful gaming machine in the office to the weak laptop you're playing on in bed. Even better, you could start a game on one computer, move to a more convenient spot, and carry on playing it there.
How can I tell if a game supports Remote Play?
All Steam games may be streamed between your PCs. If a game supports Remote Play Together or has been selected as a good game for streaming to devices utilising the Steam Link app, it will be noted in the game information on the right side of the page on the game's Steam store page.
How do I use Remote Play?
Remote Play Anywhere
Log in to the Steam client on the computer with the installed game you wish to play.
Now, Log into Steam on another computer or a supported device with the
Steam Link app installed.
From there, you can launch and play the game remotely from the Steam Library.

Remote Play Together
Make sure your friend is logged in to Steam from a supported device.
Open your Steam Overlay in-game (Shift+Tab).
From your friend's list, right-click your friend and select 'Remote Play Together'.
Once your friend accepts the invite, they will be in-game with you.
How do I disable Remote Play?
Outside of the game being streamed, Steam Remote Play gives access to the host computer. It is presumed that you have full access to both machines because you are signed into your Steam account on both. If you don't want a remote Steam session to have access to your computer, just disable the option in the Steam Remote Play settings.
